My husband and I absolutely LOVED the Miracle on George St diner theatre we seen last night. The food was good, service was outstanding, and Shelly & Peter blew my mind my mind with their musical/theatrical performance.
My only complaint is that I never brought the kids along!
If you're from out of town this is a must see! If you're from town and you haven't been, you're missing one of the greatest night-life productions that Newfoundland has to offer !

"really disappointing" India Gate Restaurant
| Close | More Info |
Well, i love indian cuisines so much so on my birthday my friends had a dinner arranged there. The food was really good as expected but the service was extremely poor!!!the waiter never gave us any cleaning cloths before or after dinner, neither did she attended to us to ask if we needed anything. At the end, I gave one of them my cake (more than half of it) to keep in the freezer so that as we were leaving i would take it along but when we were leaving they gave me just a quarter slice and denied ever taking it! And in which restaurant are you forced to pay tips in the bill???..this one it wa ...

"Definitely worth a shot" Merlo's Press & Bean Restaurant

I have always loved the Murray Premises so a chance to also have a nice meal in a cosy restaurant is a plus. Food is very good and atmosphere is relaxed. Not top of my list for a romantic night out but a good choice for 2 couples or a group.

"I could pass" Yellowbelly Brewery

Certainly not a bad spot, but I think with the top-notch competition downtown these days there are better options. Menu offers some different dishes but quality could be improved. I would rather pay a little more and go to the Casbah or pay a little less and go to the Duke. The micro-brewery beer is worth a try though.

I'f you haven't been there for Wednesday night wings & mussels or Sunday morning brunch with steak & eggs and a ceasar you just haven't experienced downtown St. John's. Always a great spot to go with a crowd. (If you can get a seat!)

"Another good downtown dining option" Blue On Water
| Close | More Info |
It wouldn't be my favourite in town but I have found the food quite good and the staff decent. I haven't been there on a busy night so tough to comment on the atmosphere but I the best thing I can say is that I will be going back again.

"Best dining experience so far downtown" Magnum & Stein's

Just a fantastic restaurant. Great atmosphere, exceptional service (the staff really know the menu inside out). The menu does offer a good choice but I always go for one of the specials. If I could afford it I would dine here one a week!

"Almost a St. John's tradition" India Gate Restaurant

A family favourite over the years. The food is always outstanding. Prices have seen a steady rise and can be expensive if you are like me and want to have a sampling of everything. Recommend a crowd (6-8 people) and everyone order something different.

"One of the better choices in town" The Casbah
| Close | More Info |
Definitely recommend for a mid-priced dining experience. Relaxed atmosphere with a nice buzz. Foot was very good and a nice selection on the menu. Service wasn't bad but a little drink mix-up and not a lot of advice given for the menu. Still, better than much of its competition.

"Some good some not so" Magnum & Stein's
| Close | More Info |
Table for four several nights ago. Very good red pepper soup and Muesli salads. Gnocchi was homemade and very good but in a non-descript sauce. Three of us had the most beautiful pieces of Halibut I have ever seen - easily 8cm x 8cm x 5cm to 6cm high, sadly they were over-cooked and dry - a tragedy/travesty of the first order. Comparing notes with friends who ate there two weeks ago and they had the same experience with the halibut.

"Fantastic Restaurant" Magnum & Stein's
| Close | More Info |
I lived in St. John's for a year, and traveled back and forth every two months for another two years. I frequented this restaurant approximately 20 times over this time period and found the food was fantastic every single time. My husband is a very fussy eater and when I finally got him to agree to join me at Magnum and Stein, he quietly leaned over during the dinner to tell me that I was absolutely right. He said that the food was terrific!
Yes the "guy" downstairs is not all warm and fuzzy but to not eat there because of that......well it is a shame actually as you missed out big time on ...

"Restaurant" Blue On Water
| Close | More Info |
My husband, sister, and I ate at the Blue On Water Restaurant today and found this food to be the best seafood we've ever had. This is quite a statement coming from customers coming from the Gulf Coast Region and whom are accustomed to eating seafood regularly. From the appetizers, steamed muscles & scallops to the main course, halibut, cod, and a combination shrimp, scallop, & mussel dinner not to mention the wine, we all sampled each others delectible portions and found we were thrilled with the presentation, tastes, and the service. A must experience! Visit before you leave so you can sa ...

"Great place!" Country Delight

Their food is the best. Five chicken fingers (which are big) and fries dressing and gravy is highly recommended. It's around $10 and worth it for the amount of food you get. Also, they have awesome cheese burgers and pretty good sundaes.
