Would it kill them to have 2 more staff members working?

They just always seem to be crazy understaffed and I feel really bad for the waiters & waitresses. You can tell they are obviously flustered and I just don't get why cutting cost by having one less staff member present is really worth sacrificing your quality of service and your staff's attitude.

Since this restaurant opened, I have been there numerous times for lunch and dinner. In the beginning, it seemed that there were more staff (and more efficient staff). The atmosphere is unique and loaded with character, very cozy and inviting. I hate to admit it, but the quality of service has deteriorated over the past year or more; my last visit a couple of months ago, was awkward and not enjoyable. Our waitress, whom I had the displeasure of having once before, was brash, loud and overly chatty to the point of being annoying - she seemed easily distracted and seemed way over her head. The food remains fairly consistent, but the well-mannered, efficient staff have seem to have disappeared? My last few visits here have been hit or miss, truly. It's worth a visit and, hopefully, you'll have an enjoyable meal.
